Vocational Education

In recent years, Vocational Education and Training Department has been imparting training successfully to VIII+ students and also technical education for X+ students in all over this state.

In view of the proper looking after as well as migrating information to large number of centres in districts, a ‘Nodal Centre’ in each district was established in the year 2008. A number of nodal staffs (External) are engaged in these nodal centres for managing the vocational centres of that district.

About Contai Nodal Centre

Contai Nodal Centre is the biggest Nodal Centre in West Bengal situated in Contai Polytechnic in the District of Purba Medinipur which is Controlled by Directorate of Vocational Education & Training , Govt of West Bengal. It started from July, 2006. From the beginning of the centre we have to do various types of activities for implementation of Vocational Education.

Presently 423 Nos VTCs running through out Purba Medinipur District   for VIII+ and  X+2 level Vocational education which are affiliated by WBSCT&VE&SD.

8 nos of External staffs are engaged for improvement Vocational Education under super vision of Officer in Charge / Principal of this Polytechnic.

Our Major Activities

Details of Vocational Training Centre (VTCs) in Purba Medinipur District under Nodal Centre, Contai Polytechnic

  1. Monitoring & supervision of different VTC’s
  2. Maintaining constant liaison among VTC’s , Council and Directorate office.
  3. Conducting Examination
  4. Conducting Centralized evaluation of Answer Script.
  5. Receiving and distributing different important circular, papers notices to different VTC’s
  6. Inspecting different VTC’s as and when required.

Besides Contai Polytechnic another very important wings is Nodal Centre. The main objectives of Nodal Centre is to monitor & supervise different Vocational Training Institute ( VTCs) for improvement of Vocational Education. Since inception Contai Polytechnic Nodal Centre, the only Nodal Centre in the Purba Medinipur District has played and important role and  continuously doing at their level based. All VTC’s, All Teacher’s and Staff of different VTC’s, all students, Guardians and other personalities are also extending their helping hands toward us.
