There was potential for this but it went straight down the drain. There’s a balance between romance and actual story that can be accomplished, but this was thrown together and completely severed into two different things. They should’ve focused on the main plot, while once in a while throwing in romance. It would’ve been better if the main character, Yui, actually developed sympathy for each character first, then once the romantic scenes rolled around, we would’ve all felt the same emotion. This show got it completely backwards, and I hope that they can figure out those faults and change it around once season 2 comes around. It seems like in this anime, rape is some taboo but exhilarating thing.

The story is incredibly well developed, with tons of plot twists and mysterious secondary elements that won’t really be explained, leaving them up to the player’s interpretation. Each route takes a specific path and gives you different outcomes, also depending on your choices in game. Some routes can be less interesting than others, but it still can be engaging and make the player feel part of the story. The only things I enjoyed about this series is the music and the art, although the animation wasn’t very up to par.
